Jarius Ransom (Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown), a junior on the McDaniel football team, has been named the Centennial Conference (CC) Defensive of the Week for the week of Sept. 22.
Ransom led the Green Terror (2-2, 1-2 CC) to a 25-0 victory at Gettysburg on Saturday. He was the center of a complete team defensive effort with 10 tackles. He had 1.5 tackles for loss. As a unit, the defense limited the Bullets to 123 yards of total offense, including just 33 rushing, in McDaniel's first shutout since 2010.
For the season, Ransom leads the Green Terror with 37 tackles, including 6.5 for loss. He has recorded double-digit tackles in three straight games.

Franklin & Marshall senior defensive end Joe Granahan was named the Centennial Conference (CC) Defensive Player of the Week announced on Sunday. The honor is the first for Granahan this season and the second for a member of the F&M football team.
Granahan (Garnet Valley, Pa. / Garnet Valley)was the leader of a Diplomat defensive effort that held McDaniel to just 61 rushing and 216 total yards in a 21-14 victory. He registered nine tackles, including five solo stops, with 2.5 sacks, 3.5 tackles for loss and a forced fumble.
