For the fourth straight season, and the sixth time in the last seven years, the Ursinus College Field Hockey team finds themselves in the NCAA Division III Semifinals.

And for the third straight time, the Bears will be playing an opponent that they faced in the regular season. Ursinus will square off against The College of New Jersey in the back-end of the two games at Vendetti Field on the campus of Nichols College.

Ursinus earned its trip to Southern Mass by earning the Centennial Conference's automatic bid by defeating F&M, 2-1, in the CC title game on November 6. The College of New Jersey defeated Montclair State in the inaugural NJAC title game by a score of 2-0.

Ursinus opened up NCAA tournament play with a first-round victory over Christopher Newport by a 3-1 score. That was the first time the Bears had played a first-round game since reclassifying to Division III in 2003. After that, the Bears went on the road for the regionals for the first time since 2007, defeating Messiah 3-1 in the second round, before outlasting Salisbury 1-0 in an overtime thriller in the regional final.

TCNJ opened regional play at home with a 1-0 win over William Smith, before defeating Lynchburg 3-0 in the regional final.

This is a rematch for the Bears and Lions, as the Lions earned a 2-1 win over Ursinus back on September 27 in Collegeville. Ursinus has not advanced past the semifinals since winning it all back in 2006. The College of New Jersey is making its first appearance in the semifinal round since 2003.

Ursinus is 16-6 all-time in tournament play after its three wins so far this season. The Bears are also the first team to advance to the semifinals from the first round since Middlebury did it in 2007.

The winner of this game takes on Middlebury/Bowdoin in Sunday's title game.
