OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Maggie Phillips, Johns Hopkins (Jr, F, Whitehall, Pa. / Whitehall)

Phillips scored three goals on just three shots to pace Johns Hopkins to a 2-0 week and to help clinch the No. 3 seed in the Centennial Conference Tournament. She scored the game's first goal in a 4-1 win at McDaniel on Wednesday. Phillips then scored the game-winning goal in the first half against Gettysburg. She added a second goal midway through the second half to secure a win that the Blue Jays needed to guarantee the No. 3 seed.

 

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Sydney Hyder, Haverford (Jr, GK, Moorestown, N.J. / Moorestown)

Hyder earned the win in a pair of pivotal games for Haverford during the week. She allowed just one goal in each game and finished the week with an .867 save percentage, stopping six shots in the win at Washington College and registering seven more saves in Sunday's victory against Swarthmore which clinched a playoff spot for the Fords.

CONFERENCE NOTEBOOK

Bryn Mawr freshman Maddy Beckmann (Wildwood, Mo. / Whitifield School) scored four goals in the Owls’ victory over visiting Cedar Crest College. The last time Bryn Mawr scored four or more goals in a game was on September 9, 2006, when the Owls defeated Mary Baldwin 4-0. The win also ended Bryn Mawr’s season with an overall record of 2-15. The two wins on the season are the most wins since the 2007 season.

Junior Tanya Bellingham (Alexandria, Va. / Annadale) turned in a strong performance during Dickinson's 3-1 overtime upset against No. 20 Juniata, scoring a goal, an assist and converting a penalty stroke in overtime.

Swarthmore's five Centennial Conference wins in 2011 equals its total Centennial wins in the 2008, 2009 and 2010 seasons combined.

Ursinus senior Alyssa Thren (Barto, Pa. / Upper Perkiomen) scored four goals, including the 100th in her career, against Eastern Mennonite on Tuesday.

Washington College's four conference losses this season all came against the other four teams in the Centennial Conference Tournament and all four were by one goal, including a 2-1 loss to Haverford four days ago.
