HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford College senior goalkeeper Hannah Roth has been named the NFHCA Division III National Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season, the organization announced in a release on Wednesday morning.

Roth logged a pair of shutouts with eight saves in wins over Washington College and Gettysburg last week, helping the Fords secure a spot in the Centennial Conference postseason. Roth opened the week with a three-save shutout vs. Washington College before turning away five shots in another shutout vs. Gettysburg.  The Wilmette, Ill. product is second in the nation in save percentage (.849) and fourth in goals against average (0.71). Roth has seen every second in the cage for the 17th-ranked Fords, notching six shutouts so far this season.

Haverford jumped up three spots in the national ranking on Wednesday after briefly falling to No. 20 from No. 19 a week ago. The Fords are 13-2 overall (6-2 CC), just one win shy of matching the program's all-time record for single season victories, a mark matched in both the 2010 and 2012 campaigns.

Roth and the 17th-ranked Fords complete the regular season with two matchups this week, including a ranked-versus-ranked matchup against No. 14 Ursinus tonight in Collegeville. Haverford then hosts Swarthmore for Senior Day at Swan Field on Saturday at noon.
