JHU's Scott Named NFHCA National Defensive Player of the Week

LANCASTER, PA – Johns Hopkins field hockey senior Anna Scott has been selected the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week. In addition, she was named the NFHCA Division III National Defensive Player of the Week on Wednesday. 
 
Scott led the Blue Jay defense to a pair of shutout wins in conference play last week. She and the JHU defense held Gettysburg to four shots, just two on goal, and zero corners on Wednesday. At Ursinus on Saturday, Scott had a defensive save late in the second quarter when it was still a one-goal game. The defense also held the Bears to seven shots and zero goals.
 
Scott has a team-best three defensive saves and also has two assists. The Blue Jays lead the conference in goals allowed (8). JHU has also allowed just 59 penalty corners in 12 games.
