Weekend Games to Watch

Johns Hopkins at Gettysburg (Football, 1:00)
A Southern army heads north, crossing the Mason-Dixon line to face a Northern army, determined to hold ground at Gettysburg. Sound familiar? It might be one of the most anticipated games at the Battlefield in years as the 14th ranked Blue Jays (5-0, CC, 6-0) take on the Bullets (4-1, 4-2). A Hopkins win keeps the Jays quest for an undefeated season alive, while a Gettysburg triumph throws the league chase into a quandary. The Bullets hold a 20-16-2 all-time lead, but Hop has won 14 of the last 16, including a 29-21 win last season at the Battlefield. Gettysburg (42.2) and Hopkins (41.7) are 1-2 in the Conference in scoring offense, but the teams diverge defensively, as JHU tops the CC in scoring defense (7.3) while Gettysburg is ninth (36.8). Franklin & Marshall at Washington College (Field Hockey, Saturday, 1:00)
The Diplomats (7-0, 12-2) look to take another step toward the top seed for November's Conference tournament when they head to Chestertown to take on the Shorewomen (5-2, 9-5). Both teams look to bounce back from tough losses, as F&M fell to No. 19 Lebanon Valley, 3-2, and Washington dropped a 5-4 decision at No. 11 Ursinus. The Shorewomen have won the last three meetings by one goal each and lead the all-time series, 11-7. F&M's last win on the Eastern Shore was in 2006 (2-0). Becky Willert continues to lead the Dips and the Conference in scoring with 21-4-46, while Claire McAuliffe is a 10-goal scorer for WAC. Watch LIVE!

Johns Hopkins at Swarthmore (Men's Soccer, 7:00)
It's become one of the top rivalries in the Conference and region as the Blue Jays (4-1-1, 7-4-3) travel to the banks of Crum Creek to take on the Garnet (4-2, 10-4). It is the 61st meeting between the rivals in a series that dates to 1957 and Hopkins holds a slim 28-26-6 advantage. Swat is 2-0-1 in JHU's last three trips to Clothier Field and the draw was won in PKs in the 2010 Centennial semifinals. The Garnet offense features the one-two punch of Fabian Castro (6-5-17) and David Sterngold (6-2-14), while Hopkins looks to Sean Coleman (6-4-16) for its offensive spark. Watch LIVE!

Muhlenberg at Gettysburg (Men's Soccer, 7:00)
The Mules (4-2, 8-4-1) and the Bullets (3-2-1, 6-6-1) meet for the 58th time since 1949 in a match with serious playoff implications. It looks like the Conference has six teams competing for five playoff berths, so neither side can afford a defeat. Muhlenberg has taken four straight from Gettysburg and holds a 33-18-6 series lead. The Bullets have dropped three in a row and have not scored a goal in Centennial play since an overtime tally defeated Dickinson on Oct. 1. 'Berg has been inconsistent as of late, but has still reeled off three straight CC victories. Watch LIVE!
