Tuesday's Games to Watch

It's Opening Day for Conference play in baseball on Tuesday. Dickinson looks for its first win in Baltimore since 1998 when it visits Johns Hopkins. Franklin & Marshall and Gettysburg square off for the 161st time in a series that dates to 1892 with the Bullets holding a 101-58-1 advantage. Swarthmore travels up the Blue Route to take on archrival Haverford. Washington College visits McDaniel for a renewal of one of the Centennial's tightest series ? tied at 18 wins apiece since 1994. And Muhlenberg is on the road at Ursinus looking for just its second win in Collegeville since 2003.

Washington College at Swarthmore (Women's Tennis)
It's a rematch of a 2011 Centennial semifinal match as the Shorewomen (8-1, 4-0 CC) travel to take on the Garnet (3-2, 2-0). Washington College defeated Swarthmore, 5-1, to advance to the CC final a year ago. Jordan Finnegan is 8-1 at #1 singles and 8-1 at #1 doubles with Amanda Bercovici for the Shorewomen. Swarthmore's Lia Carlson is 4-1 at #1 singles.

McDaniel at Swarthmore (Women's Lacrosse)
Two teams that will be battling for a playoff spot at the end of April meet in a key early-season Conference showdown. The Green Terror (4-4, 1-1) looks to bounce back from a heart-breaking 10-9 overtime loss to Haverford on Saturday. Freshman Danielle Entrot leads all Centennial rookies in scoring (24-10-34). The Garnet (5-2, 1-1) is led by junior Annalise Penikis who tops the Conference in goals (28), assists (19) and points (47).

Haverford at Washington College (Softball)
The teams with the best overall records in the Conference square off in a twinbill in Chestertown today. The Shorewomen (10-7, 2-0) are fresh from a pair of walk-off victories over Franklin & Marshall last Saturday. The Fords (8-3-1) are opening Centennial play today. Washington's Christine Anderson is the third-leading hitter in the CC (.466), while Haverford's Claire Fitzgerald is 4-1 on the mound with a 1.56 ERA.
