It's the final weekend of regular-season Conference play in field hockey, soccer and volleyball and it's the final chance for teams to make their case for the Centennial playoffs. The cross country championship takes place at Haverford, while a pair of football games may set the stage for a title game next Saturday.

Men's Cross Country Championship (Saturday, 11:00)
The 20th annual Centennial Conference cross country championship meet takes place at Haverford College on Saturday, October 27. And the top-ranked team in the country comes in as defending champion and as the prohibitive favorite. On the men's side, Haverford has won 17 of the previous 19 Centennial titles and enters the 2012 meet as the top-ranked team in Division III. The Fords will be challenged by 21st ranked Dickinson, who has finished in the top three every season since 1998, and 27th ranked Johns Hopkins. Senior Jordan Schilit is the defending champion and looks to become the first repeat Conference champ since Dickinson's Greg Leak in 2008 and 2009. He will face challenges from teammates Peter Kissin and Brian Sokas who finished among the top seven a year ago. Other top contenders for the individual crown include Dickinson's Andrew Fine , Franklin & Marshall's Greg Duckloe, Johns Hopkins' Max Robinson and Swarthmore's Jacob Phillips. Championship Website

Women's Cross Country Championship (Saturday, noon)
The 20th annual Centennial Conference cross country championship meet takes place at Haverford College on Saturday, October 27. And one of the top teams in the country comes in as defending champion and as the prohibitive favorite. Johns Hopkins is the four-time defending champion and enters the meet ranked second nationally. The Blue Jays will be challenged by Haverford and Dickinson who are ranked 14th and 15th, respectively. Individually, Dickinson's Taylor Ludman returns as the defending champion. The women's race has a host of contenders, including Bryn Mawr's Kristina Kronauer, Franklin & Marshall's Sheena Crawley, Gettysburg's Christine Esposito, Haverford's Emily Scott, Johns Hopkins' Holly Clarke and Hannah Oneda, Muhlenberg's Samantha Mayden and Swarthmore's Jenna Cody. Ludman and Crawley have the opportunity to become the 19th and 20th runners to earn first-team All-Centennial honors by finishing in the top seven. Championship Website

Men's Soccer

Four teams are in the playoffs - Dickinson, Franklin & Marshall, Haverford and Swarthmore. The Garnet can lock up the top seed with a win or draw OR a Red Devil tie or loss. Muhlenberg needs a win or tie and a Johns Hopkins loss OR a win and a JHU draw to make the field. Otherwise, the Blue Jays capture the final spot.

Women's Soccer

  • Johns Hopkins at Gettysburg, 7:00
  • Muhlenberg at Ursinus, 7:30

Four teams are in the field - Gettysburg, Haverford, Johns Hopkins and Swarthmore. The top seed will be determined by the winner of the Gettysburg-Hopkins match. A Muhlenberg win or a Dickinson loss gives the top spot to the Jays, while a Red Devil win and Mule tie or loss makes the Bullets the top seed. Dickinson gets the final berth with a win and if Ursinus gets at least one point. Otherwise, Muhlenberg takes the fifth playoff spot.

Field Hockey

  • Muhlenberg at Ursinus, 12:00
  • McDaniel at Washington College, 1:00

Franklin & Marshall will host the final four next weekend, while Gettysburg and Haverford have secured their berths in the field. Johns Hopkins and Washington College qualify with a victory. If the three teams at 5-4 are all victorious - Hopkins, Ursinus and Washington College - the eight-time defending champion Bears are out. Wins by Gettysburg, Ursinus and McDaniel opens the door for Swarthmore to get in the tourney with a victory.

Volleyball

  • Franklin & Marshall at Dickinson, 1:00
  • Haverford at Swarthmore, 1:00

The field is set, but the seeding for the tournament is not. Franklin & Marshall is the top seed with a win, while a stumble opens the door for Hopkins with a victory. The Haverford-Swarthmore winner gets a first-round bye. Gettysburg will host the first-round match with a win and a Haverford loss. Otherwise, Swarthmore will host the first round.

Football

The top two teams in the Conference face road tests prior to their anticipated showdown next Saturday in Lancaster. The 10th ranked Blue Jays (7-0, 6-0 CC) lead the all-time series against the Bears (5-2, 4-2), 30-20-4, but are just 12-13-2 in Collegeville. Points will be plenty as Hopkins averages 41.4 points per game, while Ursinus averages 28.0. The Diplomats (6-1, 5-1) are 9-1-2 all-time against the Crusaders (3-4, 2-4), but Susquehanna's win came last season
