McDaniel 73, Washington College 66

Devon Lesniak netted his sixth 20-point performance of the season, tallying a game-high 25 points to key McDaniel's 73-66 Centennial Conference (CC) men's basketball victory at Washington (Md.) on Saturday. For the Green Terror (10-8, 7-4 CC), it marked the team's first victory in Chestertown since an 84-80 overtime victory on Feb. 4, 1982 – a streak of 17 consecutive losses. McDaniel also improved to 3-0 against the Shoremen (6-13, 5-7 CC) this season – the first time the squad has accomplished that feat – to remain alone in third place, one-half game behind Gettysburg. Kevin Breslin led four Washington players in double figures with 16 points.

Franklin & Marshall 71, Haverford 56

Five players scored in double-figures as No. 22 Franklin & Marshall defeated Haverford 71-56 in Centennial Conference (CC) action Saturday afternoon. The Diplomats picked up the season sweep of the Fords for the third year in a row and improved to 15-4, 10-2 CC. Haverford fell to 8-9, 6-6 CC. Hayk Gyokcyan finished with a team-high 14 points on 6-for-8 shooting. Georgio Milligan netted 13 and Brandon Beckford dropped in 12 points. Sam Permutt led the Fords with a game-high 18 points while Brett Cohen finished with 14 points for Haverford.

Gettysburg 72, Swarthmore 59

Senior center Andrew Powers missed a double-double by one rebound, pouring in a game-high 28 points while grabbing nine rebounds as the hot-shooting Gettysburg College men’s basketball team downed Swarthmore College 72-59 at the Tarble Pavilion Saturday afternoon in a Centennial Conference (CC) affair. Gettysburg (11-8, 8-4 CC), which won at Swarthmore for the first time since Jan. 16, 2008, shot a season-best 67.4 percent, just 2.0 percent shy of the school record set last season against Johns Hopkins. The Bullets, who remained a half game in front of McDaniel College for second place in the CC standings, also tied a school record by not missing a free throw, going 10-for-10 at the charity stripe.

Ursinus 82, Dickinson 77

Ursinus got a game-high 26 points from senior guard Matt Hilton and 19 points from sophomore forward Jon Ward as the Bears (8-11, 5-7 Centennial) defeated Dickinson (9-10, 7-5 Centennial) 82-77 on Saturday afternoon in men's basketball action. The Bears converted on 34-of-44 foul shots, with Hilton going a percent 10-for-10 in the contest. For Dickinson, senior forward Matt Dolan had 25 points, one of four Red Devil players in double figures.

Muhlenberg 54, Johns Hopkins 48

There may have been snow falling from the sky, but inside Memorial Hall it was thunder and lightning that fueled the Muhlenberg men’s basketball team against Johns Hopkins. That's "thunder" as in sophomore guard Matt O'Hara and "lightning" junior Justin Greenstone.

And it was six assists from lightning that helped jolt the Mule offense, while thunder delivered a pair of 3-pointers that allowed Muhlenberg to build a large enough lead that it was able to withstand a late Blue Jay charge for a 54-48 win.
