Franklin & Marshall 68, Gettysburg 46

Glenn Robinson picked up his 800th in a 68-46 victory over Gettysburg Wednesday evening in Centennial Conference (CC) action. Robinson also coached in his 1,100th as the No. 21 Diplomats improved to 18-4, 13-2 CC. You can read more on Robinson's Road to 800 by clicking here. Mike Baker scored a game-high 18 points on 8-for-11 shooting while Hayk Gyokchyan tallied 15 points and eight rebounds. Andrew Powers came into the game 11 points shy of the career mark of 1,880 set by Ron Warner '62 in three years from 1959-62. He broke the mark with a pair of free throws with 10:56 left in the game and finished the night with a team-high 13 points, setting his new record at 1,882 points.

 

Dickinson 70, Muhlenberg 69 (OT)

The Dickinson College men's basketball team set a school record, winning 10 games in the Centennial Conference for the first time in program history. The Red Devils completed a sweep of Muhlenberg College with a thrilling 70-69, overtime win at Memorial Hall. The Red Devils improve to 10-5 in the CC and raise their overall mark to 12-10 on the season. Adam Honig finished with a career and game-high 30 points, hitting a career-best five three-pointers on the night. He dished out three assists and went 3-for-3 from the line. Aaron Curry led Muhlenberg (12-10, 8-7) with 19 points and three assists, hitting 9-of-10 free throws. Spencer Lidic tallied 18 points and 13 rebounds while handing out four assists.

 

Ursinus 87, Haverford 84

With Ursinus needing every game to have a chance to make the Centennial Conference playoffs, the Bears took care of business on their end in a 87-84 win at Haverford on Wednesday. Ursinus with the win improved to 10-12 overall and 7-8 in the Centennial. The Bears now find themselves one game back of a four-way log jam for third place with Muhlenberg, McDaniel, Gettysburg and Haverford who are all 8-7 with three games left. Ursinus has split the series with Gettysburg, Haverford and McDaniel and will play Muhlenberg one week from Saturday. For Ursinus, the Bears got 27 points from senior guard Matt Hilton who was 10-for-15 from the field and sank five three pointers. Sophomore forward Jon Ward had 20 points, 13 of which came in the second half. Haverford had strong performances as well, as sophomore forward Bo Friddell had 25 points and was a perfect 10-for-10 from the foul line.

 

Johns Hopkins 47, McDaniel 45

Senior John Alberici scored four straight points and freshman Daniel Corbett hit two free throws as Johns Hopkins rallied and took a 47-45 win at McDaniel Wednesday night in Centennial Conference action. The Blue Jays move to 6-16 on the season, 4-11 in the conference, and win their second straight at the Gill Center. The Green Terror meanwhile, who entered the night in a four-way tie for third in the conference, fall to 11-11 overall and 8-7 in the Centennial. Alberici led the Blue Jays with a game-high 15 points, eight rebounds and three assists. Michael Jarboe led the Green Terror with 10 points, while Evan Pupelis had a team-high six rebounds.

 

Washington College 78, Swarthmore 72

Senior guard Dylan Bernstein dished out a career-best 10 assists and matched his career high of nine points to lead host Washington College to a 78-72 Centennial Conference men's basketball win over visiting Swarthmore tonight inside Cain Athletic Center. The Shoremen trailed by 13 points in the second half before rallying for the victory. Bernstein orchestrated a balanced Washington offense that saw eight playes score between eight and 12 points a piece. Junior guard Kevin Breslin paced the Shoremen with 12 points, while Olsen added nine points, eight rebounds, and four assists. Jay Kober scored a game-best 22 points to lead the Garnet, while Gates finished with 13 points and eight rebounds.
