Around the Conference

Storylines

Wednesday – Five teams are still in the running for the final three playoff spots and two of them go head-to-head in Allentown as Haverford visits Muhlenberg.

Saturday – The final day of the regular season sees rivalries and what could be playoff games as the tournament field is determined - McDaniel at Gettysburg, Ursinus at Muhlenberg and Swarthmore at Haverford.

Dickinson

The Red Devils' 11 Centennial wins are the most ever by the program. Dickinson finished 4-19 last season and its 13-10 mark at this point of the season is +9 from a year ago, just two shy of the Conference record. Freshman Adam Honig (Chappaqua, NY / Horace Greeley) poured in a career-high 30 points in the overtime win at Muhlenberg - the Devils' first in Allentown since 2003. Twelve of Dickinson's 23 games have been decided by five points or less (5-7). The Devils earned their first-ever first-round bye in the tournament since the field went to five teams in 2005.

Franklin & Marshall

Head coach Glenn Robinson earned his 800th career win with the triumph at Gettysburg. The Diplomats clinched the top seed and home court for the Centennial tournament. Junior Georgio Milligan (Spring Valley, NY / Don Bosco Prep, NJ) registered seven steals at Swarthmore to surpass the 200-mark for his career (204). F&M is 16-1 when leading at halftime.

Gettysburg

Senior Andrew Powers (Boyertown, PA / Boyertown) became the school's career scoring leader in the loss to F&M and now has 1,897 points.  He is three away from becoming just the third Centennial player to reach 1,900 and 76 shy of the Conference career record of 1,973 held by Ursinus' Nick Shattuck. The win at Washington was the Bullets' first of the season when trailing at halftime.

Haverford

Junior Ian Goldberg (Manhattan, NY / Poly Prep) needs one more "three" to become the seventh Haverford player to make 100 in a career. He is averaging 23.0 points over his last three games, shooting 65.6 percent (21-32) including 14 three-pointers.

Johns Hopkins

The Blue Jays won at McDaniel, 47-45, in the lowest scoring game of the series since a 48-44 JHU win on Feb. 27, 1947. Senior John Alberici (West Chester, PA / Malvern Prep) averaged 13.5 points in a 1-1 week.

McDaniel

The Terror can clinch a first-round playoff bye with wins vs. Swarthmore and Gettysburg. One win will clinch a spot in the five-team field. Senior Michael Jarboe (Monrovia, MD / Urbana) drained a season-best four treys vs. Muhlenberg.

Muhlenberg

The Mules are in a three-way tie for fifth place in the Conference and can qualify for the playoffs with wins vs. Haverford and Ursinus. Junior Spencer Liddic (Clarks Summit, PA / Abington Heights) went over the 700-record mark for his career (703) and posted a pair of double-doubles, giving him 13 for the season. Freshman Kevin Hargrove (Queens, NY / Chaminade) averaged 16.0 points, 8.5 rebounds and 4.0 blocks in a 0-2 week.

Swarthmore

The Garnet made 26-of-29 free throws vs. Washington, including its first 22 of the contest. Freshman Jay Kober (North Huntingdon, PA / Norwin) scored a game-high 22 vs. the Shoremen. Sophomore Will Gates (Willseyville, NY / Candor Central) scored 19 points vs. No. 21 F&M, extending his double-figure streak to 39 games.

Ursinus

The Bears battled back into the playoff chase with a win at Haverford and a home triumph vs. Hopkins. Senior Matt Hilton (Lewistown, PA / Lewistown) scored 27 points with five treys vs. the Fords. Sophomore Jon Ward (Allentown, PA / Parkland) poured in 21 vs. Haverford and 30 vs. the Blue Jays to average 25.5 ppg. on the week.  He has scored in double digits in all 23 games this season.

Washington College

The Shoremen registered the third-largest comeback from a halftime deficit in the CC this season, fighting back from eight down to defeat Swarthmore. Senior Dylan Bernstein (Laytonsville, MD / Gaithersburg) had a career night with nine points and 10 assists. Junior Kevin Breslin (Hagerstown, MD / St. Maria Goretti) has 997 career points and is three shy of 1,000.
