Franklin & Marshall 72, Johns Hopkins 60

Georgio Milligan scored a game-high 21 points to as No. 15 Franklin & Marshall handed Johns Hopkins a 72-60 setback in Centennial Conference (CC) men's basketball action. The Diplomats' winning streak now stands at ten as F&M improved to 20-4, 15-2 CC. Mike Baker dropped in 14 points and collect five steals. Hayk Gyokchyan finished with 12 while James McNally netted eight points. McNally added eight boards and six takeaways. John Alberici paced the Blue Jays with 14 points.

 

Gettysburg 59, Dickinson 57 (OT)

Senior guard Paul Crone nailed a go-ahead 3-pointer with 1:03 left in overtime and Gettysburg rallied from five points down in the extra session to beat Dickinson College 59-57 in Centennial Conference men’s basketball action Wednesday evening in the Kline Center. With the win, the Bullets (13-11, 10-7 CC) remain tied with McDaniel College for third place in the Centennial Conference heading into the final game of the season. Gettysburg and McDaniel will face off in the regular season finale on Saturday, and the winner will clinch both a Centennial Conference playoff berth and a first-round bye. Senior forward Kevin Kennedy led the Bullets with 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting while sophomore forward Ben Constable scored 11 of his 12 points in the second half and overtime. Adam Honig led Dickinson (13-11, 11-6 CC) with 13 points while Matt Dolan and Logan Furr each tallied 10.

 

McDaniel 57, Swarthmore 51

Cullen Murray-Kemp recorded his first career double-double to lead McDaniel to a 57-51 victory over Swarthmore in Centennial Conference (CC) men's basketball action on Wednesday. Murray-Kemp netted 14 points and a career-best 10 rebounds to lead the Green Terror (13-11, 10-7 CC), who secured a CC playoff bid for the third time in the last four seasons. McDaniel concludes the regular season at Gettysburg on Saturday. After the Bullets defeated Dickinson 59-57 in overtime, Saturday's contest will determine the remaining first-round bye. Jordan Federer paced the Garnet (6-18, 3-14 CC) with 15 points while Jay Kober added 12.

 

Haverford 84, Muhlenberg 72

Win, or watch the league playoffs from the sidelines. Haverford College's men's basketball team faced that consequence if it dropped Wednesday's game at Muhlenberg College, but the Fords pulled out an 84-72 Centennial Conference victory over the Mules to stay in the chase for a tournament spot. The victory by Haverford (12-11, 9-8 CC) was the first in Allentown since defeating the Mules (12-12, 8-9) on their home court in 2005. It also leaves the Fords and Ursinus College (winners over Washington College Wednesday night) tied in the standings. Cam Baker posted a game-high 21 points for Haverford leading a quartet of Fords into double-digits in scoring on the night. Sam Permutt notched a double-double in the win with 20 points -- 15 in the second-half -- and 11 rebounds, while Bo Friddell added 14 points and Brett Cohen chipped in with a dozen. The Mules were led by Spencer Liddic's 16 points and got 15 from Austin Curry.

 

Ursinus 93, Washington College 86

Just one short month ago, the Ursinus College men's basketball team was sitting at 6-10 overall and just 3-6 in the Centennial. Fast forward 30 days, and Ursinus finds themselves back at an even 12-12 with a 93-86 hard fought win over Washington College Wednesday night. With the win, the Bears put themselves in prime position on Saturday to clinch their second straight Centennial Conference playoff appearance. All the Bears have to do is win and they would be in, as the Bears currently hold a 9-8 conference mark. The Bears were led by sophomore forward Jon Ward who scored a team-best 25 points and grabbed a game-best ten rebounds. Freshman point guard Jesse Krasna scored 19, with senior guard Matt Hilton netting 18 points while shooting a perfect 10-for-10 from the foul line. For Washington, junior guard Kevin Breslin threw in a game-high 29 points, including the 1,000th point of his career 1:25 into the game on a foul shot.
