Men's Basketball Player of the Week

Federici averaged 29.5 points on 51.6 percent shooting from the floor to earn MVP honors at the Sponaugle New Years Tournament. He tallied a career high 30 points in a 77-73 win over Immaculata, including six three-pointers. Federici led all scorers with 29 markers in a 71-63 triumph over #4 Richard Stockton. For the weekend, he knocked down 16-of-31 shots from the floor and 10-of-15 from beyond the arc (66.7).

Senior Gerry Wixted (Moorestown, N.J.) became Dickinson's all-time scoring leader in the Red Devils' 83-71 victory at York (N.Y.). He now has 1,541 points - one better than previous standard-bearer Nate Brought '98. Wixted is the only active player in Division III with 1,500 points and 600 rebounds.

Dickinson junior Brandon Angradi (Milford, Pa.) tied a Centennial single-game record with 10 three-pointers against York and finished with a game-high 32 points. He tied the mark twice set by Dennis Stanton '04 of Ursinus.

Franklin & Marshall captured its Sponaugle New Year's Tournament title with victories over Immaculata and fourth-ranked Richard Stockton. Freshman Brandon Federici (Morganville, N.J.) averaged 29.5 points in the two wins and received the MVP award. Junior Cedric Moune (Douala, Cameroon) also earned All-Tournament honors. Head coach Glenn Robinson moved into sixth place on the all-time NCAA coaching victory list (881).

Gettysburg sophomore guard Pete Christ (Pittstown, N.J.) scored a career-high 22 points but none bigger than the game-winning free throw with two seconds left in a 62-61 win over Manhattanville. He was named to the NYU Holiday All-Classic team. The Bullets played without coach George Petrie due to health reasons.

Haverford senior guard Gibby Graves (Chappaqua, N.Y.) handed out 10 assists in the 66-62 loss to Rensselaer - his second double-figure assist game of the season. The Fords have struggled with their shooting this winter at 39.2 percent. Haverford is 3-1 in games when it shoots better than 40 percent from the field.

Senior George Bugarinovic (Overland Park, Kan.) was named MVP of the Johns Hopkins Blue Jay Invitational, averaging 17 points per game. He posted his 15th career double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds in the 80-45 triumph vs. Kenyon - Hop's largest margin of victory since a 77-40 win at Dickinson in January, 2007. Senior Jimmy Hammer (Collegeville, Pa.) scored 19 points and handed out six assists in the 82-73 title-game win vs. Hood and earned All-Invitational honors for the third time in three tourneys this season.. He became the 11th player in Conference history to make 200 "threes" (203).

McDaniel junior Tim Stewart (Smyrna, Del.) had a monster game with 29 points and a career-high 17 rebounds as the Green Terror defeated DeSales, 77-73, in overtime to win the Bulldogs' Holiday Tournament. He averaged 20.5 points and 10.5 rebounds in the two wins and earned tourney MVP honors. Junior Wes Brooks (North Wales, Pa.) also earned a nod on the All-Tourney team.

Sophomore Sam Lebryk (Falls Church, Va.) scored a career-high 24 points to lead Swarthmore to an 81-79 double-overtime victory over Roanoke to win the Maroons holiday tournament. The tourney MVP, he converted equalizing field goals to force both overtimes and assisted freshman Andrew Kaufmann's (Acton, Mass.) game-winning three. Freshman Robbie Walsh (Summit, N.J.) also earned all-tournament honors after averaging 12.5 points and 8.5 rebounds. Classmate Zack Yonda (Conestoga, Pa.) tallied a career-high 22 points in the 73-65 win over Eastern.

The Garnet's 6-5 record through 11 games is the best since the 1996-97 season - the last time Swarthmore qualified for the Centennial playoffs.

Ursinus freshman Brian Rafferty (Harleysville, Pa.) handed out 11 assists in a 59-53 win over Rensselaer.
