Zack Yonda (Berwyn, Pa. / Conestoga HS) earned Centennial Conference Player of the Week honors on Monday after helping Swarthmore College Men's Basketball to two wins last week.

Yonda, who scored a career high 34 points in the Garnet's win over Centenary on Saturday, averaged 23.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists last week. Yonda shot 60 percent from the floor and 12-for-13 from the free-throw line.

 

Around the Conference

Justus Melton (Charlotte, N.C.) and Ted Hinnenkamp (York, Pa.) each posted double-doubles in Dickinson's win at Stevenson. Melton had 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Hinnenkamp added 16-10. Hinnenkamp followed that effort with a 23-point outburst in the loss to #22 St. John Fisher.

Cedric Moune (Douala, Cameroon) posted his third consecutive double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds in Franklin & Marshall's win over New Jersey City. Moune and Brandon Federici (Morganville, N.J.) were named to the Messiah Tip-Off All-Tournament team.

Gettysburg erased a pair of double-digit deficits to win its on Tip-Off Tourney championship with wins over Pitt-Bradford and Rutgers-Newark. Sophomore forwards Cam Stewart (Sydney, Australia) and Matt England (Warrington, Pa.) both reached a career-high in scoring while combining for 38 points vs. Pitt-Bradford. Stewart posted another career-best with 23 markers in the final vs. Rutgers-Newark to earn MVP honors.

Freshman Joe Scibelli (Charlotte, N.C.) posted a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds in Haverford's loss to Penn State Harrisburg.

Ryan Curran (Flanders, N.J.) registered a career-high 25 points to go along with eight boards as Johns Hopkins topped DePauw at the Lopata Classic. He and senior Austin Vasiliadis (Great Falls, Va.) were named to the All-Classic team.

Wes Brooks (North Wales, Pa.) tallied a career-high 22 points as McDaniel knocked off Pitt-Greensburg. He earned All-Tournament honors at York. Duane Echols (Jessup, Md.) tossed in 18 vs. UPG.

Muhlenberg junior John Hunter (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) posted back-to-back double-doubles with 15 points and 12 rebounds vs. CCNY and 12-10 vs. Alvernia to earn All-Scotty Wood Tournament honors.

Swarthmore jumped out to a 2-0 start as Chris Bourne (Monmouth Junction, N.J.) tallied 24 points in a win at Widener, while Zack Yonda (Berwyn, Pa.) poured in 34 in a triumph vs. Centenary.
