Lawler secured medalist honors at the George Cangero Invitational hosted by Farmingdale State after being the only player to go under par during both rounds of the two-day event. He fired rounds of 67-69 (-4) and finished with 10 birdies over the two rounds on the par-70 course. That combined four-under score was two strokes better that Djaia Darrason of St. Thomas Aquinas for the top spot. Lawler earns medalist honors for the second time in his career after also winning the Gino Biondi Tournament last fall during his rookie campaign. The Diplomats finished second out of 10 teams, defeating No. 16 NYU who finished third at the invitational.
