Gettysburg's Sheetz-Ziegel, Muhlenberg's Schauer Earn Weekly Honors

Offensive Player of the Week

Noah Sheetz-Ziegel, So, Gettysburg

Sheetz-Ziegel scored both of Gettysburg's goals in its 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Haverford. With the Bullets trailing 1-0, he chipped in a shot over the goalie in the 54th minute, then went top shelf again in the 66th for the game-winner while lifting the Orange and Blue into sole possession of first place in the conference standings at 2-0.

Defensive Player of the Week

Jonathan Schauer, Sr, B, Muhlenberg

Schauer led the Muhlenberg defense in a 1-0 defeat of nationally ranked Franklin & Marshall. Playing with little margin for error against a Diplomat squad that had not given up a goal all season, the Mules allowed only three shots on goal, with Schauer winning many balls in the air and stopping several F&M runs with tackles.

Notebook:

Dickinson junior Jamie Martin converted a free-kick for the game-winning goal at Mary Washington as the Red Devils rallied from a 1-0 deficit to win the match, 2-1. He one-timed a cross from Javier Mena to add an insurance goal in the Devils' 3-1 win over Johns Hopkins

Senior Connor Darrell finished with six saves as Gettysburg knocked off defending conference champion Haverford 2-1. He made three of his saves in the final 14 minutes with the Bullets holding their one-goal lead while helping to lift the Bullets into sole possession of first place in the conference at 2-0. For the week, Darrell finished 1-1 with a 1.50 goals-against average and a .667 save percentage, as Gettysburg also lost 2-1 to Marymount.

Haverford sophomore Sam Yarosh tallied a goal in each contest as the Fords went 1-1 on the week.

Junior defender Michael Superdock made strong contributions on both sides of the ball to help Swarthmore end the weekend as the only undefeated team in the Centennial Conference this season. He anchored a back line that yielded only seven shots, including three on target, and scored his third goal of the season to help the Garnet salvage a 1-1 tie with Ursinus on the road. In addition, Superdock nearly had a second goal in the match that was robbed by an Ursinus defender who was credited with a team save.

Junior Matt Wilfong scored Washington College's goal in a 1-1 tie with McDaniel.
