Late Heroics Lead Red Devils Past Blue Jays

(Baltimore, Md.) – Dickinson first-year Will Bracken (Easton, Conn./Joel Barlow) scored off an assist from classmate Matt Edmonds (Lexington, Mass./Lexington) with just 20 seconds remaining in regulation to slip past Johns Hopkins, 1-0, on Saturday.

Edmonds drove a header into the bottom corner of the net after Edmonds served a beautiful cross from the top left corner of the penalty area.

The win keeps the Red Devils unbeaten in Centennial Conference play as they improve to 4-0 and 8-2-1 overall.

The game was almost as even statistically as the host Blue Jays held a one shot advantage for the game, 9-8, while each team forced four corners during the match.

Senior Reed Milbrath (Dickerson, Md./Sandy Springs Friends) improved to 7-1-1 in the nets, making five saves for the Red Devils.

Nick Cerone stopped a pair of shots for Hopkins as they slip to 6-3-1 overall and 2-2-0 in conference play.

The Red Devils return home for a non-conference match-up with the University of Misericordia on Wednesday night. Opening kick-off is set for 7:00 pm at Miller Memorial Field.
