Live Stats

Kevin Caulfield, Haverford; Kevin Papen, Washington College

Haverford visits the Eastern Shore to take on Washington College in the first round of the Centennial Conference men's tennis championship tournament. The Shoremen earned the #4 seed by virtue of a 5-4 win over the Fords on March 28 in Chestertown. Washington took a 2-1 lead after doubles and extended the advantage to 4-1 after wins at #3-4 singles. Haverford stormed back with wins at #1-2 singles before WAC's Kyle Lisco clinched the win with a straight-set victory at #5.

This is a rematch of the 2011 first-round match between the two schools, won by Haverford, 5-3, on the Main Line. That is the only previous tourney matchup between the Fords and the Shoremen. Haverford is making its sixth tournament appearance and has a 3-5 overall record, while Washington College is in the field for the seventh time and has a 2-5 mark.
