Mid-Week Men's Tennis Recap

Thursday, March 22

Dickinson 8, Elizabethtown 1
The Dickinson College men's tennis team posted an 8-1 win over Elizabethtown College on Thursday afternoon.  The Devils took a 2-1 lead after doubles, claiming the first and third flights. The Devils swept the singles matches, winning 4-of-6 in straight sets as they improve to 3-3 on the season

 

Emory 7, Johns Hopkins 2
The fourth-ranked Johns Hopkins men's tennis team suffered a 7-2 loss at the hands of the second-ranked and unbeaten Emory Eagles Thursday afternoon. The Blue Jays slip to 3-3 on the season, while the Eagles move to 12-0.

 

McDaniel 8, Goucher 0
McDaniel swept doubles play and took the five completed singles matches in straight sets to defeat Goucher 8-0 in non-conference men's tennis action on Thursday.

 

Swarthmore 9, Ursinus 0
The No. 20 Swarthmore College men's tennis team (6-6, 1-0) made quick work of homestanding Ursinus (7-3, 0-1) in its Centennial Conference opener, defeating the Bears 9-0 on Thursday afternoon.

 

 

Wednesday, March 21

York 5, Gettysburg 4
York posted a pair of three-set victories in singles play to close out a 5-4 victory over visiting Gettysburg in non-conference men's tennis action on Wednesday.  Gettysburg (3-3) was sent to its third consecutive loss as York (3-3) clinched the decision with wins at third and sixth singles. Philip Myers held off freshman John Cronin 1-6, 6-2, 6-0 at the third flight, while Matthew Rosenkrantz edged freshman Will Ives 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 at No. 6.

 

Tuesday, March 20

Haverford 7, Cabrini 2
Haverford College's men's tennis team broke out of the gate quickly Tuesday afternoon by winning each of the three doubles matches, then finished off the win in singles action against visiting Cabrini College, taking the non-conference Main Line match-up by a score of 7-2.
