Taber became the first Bullet to win the Gettysburg Invitational in the 28-year history of the event, covering the 8,000-meter course in 25:37. The senior pulled away midway through the race before eventually winning by 12 seconds and finishing 19 seconds in front of the nearest collegiate competitor. It was the third victory of the season for Taber, who helped a short-handed squad finish ninth among 26 teams.

Runner of the Week 10/10/16

Jaryd Flank, Sr, Muhlenberg
Easton, Pa./Wilson Area

Flank won his third race in four outings this season, taking first place in a field of 251 runners at the DeSales Invitational. Flank's time of 25:34 was eight seconds faster than the second-place finisher.


Runner of the Week 10/3/16

Flank finished fourth out of 401 runners in the Brown race at Lehigh's Paul Short Run. His time of 24:47 was second among Division III competitors in a race that included 15 Division I schools. Flank has finished in the top five in nine out of 10 races since the start of last year.

 

Runner of the Week 9/26/16

Jim Heilman, Sr, McDaniel
Lutherville, Md./Baltimore Lutheran

Heilman won the 8,000-meter Lancaster Bible Homecoming Invitational on Saturday. He was tops in the 95-man field, winning the race with a time of 27:30 - 29 seconds better than the second-place finisher.


Runner of the Week 9/19/16

Jaryd Flank, Sr, Muhlenberg
Easton, Pa./Wilson Area

Flank won his second meet of the season, finishing first at the Moravian Invitational to lead Muhlenberg to the team title. His time of 25:54.21 was 33 seconds better than the next collegiate runner.


Runner of the Week 9/12/16

Ben Taber, Sr, Gettysburg
Durham, Conn./Coginchaug Regional

Taber won the Little Three Meet title, beating out 45 other runners while cruising the 5,000-meter course at Franklin & Marshall in 15:07. He pulled away late in the race and won by six seconds to become the first Bullet to win the men's Little Three title since Bill Gray in 1995.

 

Runner of the Week 9/6/16

Duncan Hopkins, So, Dickinson
Lancaster, Pa./JP McCaskey

Hopkins broke the course record to win the individual title at the Dickinson Light up the Night Invitational. He crossed the line in a time of 16:02 to lead the Red Devils to the team title for the second straight year.
