McDaniel's Weisser Named Player of the Week

Weisser had a key part of a 4-2 week for the Green Terror, including a big day on Saturday to help McDaniel clinch the top seed in the CC tournament. Weisser hit .471 on the week (8-for-17) with a double and three home runs to slug 1.059. She also posted a .524 on-base percentage, drawing two walks and was hit by a pitch. On Saturday, against Washington College, she went 3-for-3 with a double and home run to slug 2.333 in the opener. She was then walked twice and hit by a pitch in game two in addition to recording a sacrifice fly to not record an official at bat. For the day, she had an .857 on-base percentage.

Schnall batted .500 (12-24) for the week as the Fords recorded a 7-1 record, including a 5-1 mark in the Centennial Conference. Schnall drove in 13 runs over those eight games, finishing with a .667 slugging percentage. Perhaps no hits were bigger during her week than a two-run double in the bottom of the sixth during the Fords' 2-1 win against McDaniel to put them in a temporary tie atop the conference standings. Schnall finished with five doubles for the week. She had a hit in all eight games and also scored seven runs during the past week.

Cooper batted .615 (8-for-13) with 15 total bases, four doubles, a home run, seven RBI and a 1.154 slugging percentage in four games this week. She had a hit in all four games and also worked out a walk for a .643 on-base percentage. In the team's 11-2 game one win at Franklin & Marshall on Thursday, she went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, a double, a home run and four RBI, which tied her career-high. Her home run, a two-run blast, gave Washington College a 3-0 lead in the top of the second. In the squad's 11-1 victory in the opener at Gettysburg on Saturday, she went 3-for-4 with two RBI, a run scored, and a double. Her two-run single in the top of the first gave Washington College a 2-0 lead that was never relinquished. In the second game, she had a double, RBI, and runs scored.

Comerford batted .833 during the doubleheader split against Muhlenberg in the Fords' only action last week. She finished with an .857 on-base percentage after being intentionally walked with nobody on base and just one out in her other at-bat. For the week, she slugged 1.667 with two doubles and one home run in her six at-bats. Comerford scored two runs and drove in three during the 5-0 win, while finishing with three runs and one RBI in Muhlenberg's game two comeback victory. Comerford is batting .383 on the year. She has three home runs and has driven in 16 runs, while scoring 15 more on the season.

Weisser led McDaniel's doubleheader sweep of Dickinson with five hits in seven trips (.714), including her first two collegiate home runs. She scored three times and drove in seven with a 1.714 slugging percentage and a 2.428 OPS.

Tatum slugged her way to a .857 batting average in the Fords' only two games of the week against Eastern. She went 2-for-3 in Haverford's 4-3 win to start the day, scoring the game-winning run while also adding an RBI. In the second game of the doubleheader, Tatum went 4-for-4 with four RBI and one run scored. Her day was highlighted by a 3-run walk-off home run in the bottom of sixth in the Fords' 8-0 run-rule victory. Tatum is batting .421 with four home runs and an .842 slugging percentage through 12 games.

Edelson hit .500 (14-28) on her way to driving in seven runs and scoring ten. She hit five doubles, a triple, and a home run for a .857 slugging percentage. Edelson's power at the plate helped lead the Red Devils to a 8-1 week.

Madarasz had a career day and helped the Garnet begin their 2015 campaign with a perfect 2-0 record. She batted .600 by going 6-for-10 with two doubles, three runs batted in, four runs scored, and two stolen bases. Madarasz most notably recorded four hits, including two doubles, to go along with three RBIs, two stolen bases, and three runs scored in the team's 11-2 win over Mount Mary.
