Moser, Moery & Barnhart Named NFCA All-Region

NFCA All-Region Teams

LOUISVILLE, Ky.  A trio of Centennial Conference softball players have been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Atlantic Region Third Team - Washington College's Grace Moery and Lexi Barnhart and Gettysburg's Olivia Moser

Barnhart became just the second freshmen in the history of the Centennial Conference to win both the Pitcher and Rookie of the Year in the same season (Maddie Bennett, Washington College, 2016) and was the fifth freshmen to capture Pitcher of the Year honors. The right-hander is just the second hurler at Washington College to win the Pitcher of the Year award. Barnhart, a two-time Centennial Pitcher of the Week, started a league-high 12 games and appeared in 17 of the team's 18 contests. The flamethrower led the circuit in wins (10), innings (93), strikeouts (89), complete games (11), and was eighth in earned run average (2.94). She went 8-1 in league contests with a 2.61 ERA. Barnhart also hit .333 at the plate while driving in six runs.

Moery, a team-captain, became only the second Shorewoman to capture Centennial Player of the Year honors as Taylor Harcum took home back-to-back honors in 2017 and 2018. A first-time All-Conference selection, Moery led the league total bases (42), runs batted in 15, home runs (4), triples (3) while hitting a career-high .367. In addition, the slick-fielding center fielder (zero errors) was second in the conference with a .700 slugging percentage, the second-highest mark in program history. She was named the Centennial Player of the Week twice in 2021 and hit in ten straight contests (19-for-37) to finish the season.

Moser earns her first career all-region nod and becomes the second Gettysburg third baseman to capture all-region status from the NFCA. Assistant Coach Megan Pilarcik '05 was the first to collect the honor in 2005 with third-team recognition. Moser is also the first sophomore to notch all-region since Steph Zengel '16 was named to the second team in 2014. A second team All-Centennial pick, Moser had an outstanding season as the Bullets third baseman. She finished second on the team in batting average (.417) and RBI (16) and tied for second in RBIs and seventh in batting average in the CC. The sophomore also produced six doubles, a .646 slugging percentage, and a .509 on-base percentage. She went 3-for-4 with two runs and two doubles at Dickinson College and logged in a career-high five RBI in the season-opener against Washington College. Through her first two seasons at Gettysburg, Moser has posted a .416 batting average with 10 doubles, two home runs, and 24 RBI in 24 games.
