Tommasi scored a career-high 24 points and senior Alex
Vassila had 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Johns Hopkins
women's basketball team past Ursinus, 69-65, to clinch a spot in
the Centennial Conference playoffs. The Blue Jays improved to 14-9
(12-7 CC), while the Bears fell to 11-12 (8-10 CC).
Swarthmore 74, Franklin & Marshall
68
Led by three double-figure scorers, the Swarthmore College women's
basketball team defeated Franklin & Marshall 74-68 on Saturday
afternoon from Tarble Pavilion. Swarthmore (18-5, 14-4) honored its
two graduating seniors Madeline
Ross and Eliza
Polli before the tip-off with the Diplomats (7-16, 4-14). The
Garnet offense was led by sophomore Elle
Larsen with 20 points – whom hit 10-of-12 from the free
throw line. Junior Katie
Lytle finished with 16 points and 17 rebounds for her
16th double-double of the season.
Gettysburg 61, Washington College

Murphy (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) and
freshman Jessica
Porter (Narberth, Pa./Lower Merion) out-scored host
Washington College by themselves in the second half to lead
Gettysburg College to a 61-49 win over the Shorewomen on Saturday
afternoon. Gettysburg (17-6, 14-4 CC) kept pace with Swarthmore
College (18-5, 14-4 CC) atop the conference standings with only two
games remaining. The Garnet defeated Franklin & Marshall
College 74-68 on Saturday. Both teams assured themselves of
first-round byes with wins. The team with the best record will host
the Centennial Conference semifinals and championship slated for
Feb. 22-23.
Dickinson 61, Bryn Mawr 37
The Dickinson women's basketball team celebrated senior day with a
61-37 win over visiting Bryn Mawr College on Saturday afternoon.
Three of those seniors reached double-figures. Belma
Mekic (Sarajevo, Bosnia/Cedar Cliff, Pa.) led the
charge with a game-high 15 points and seven rebounds, adding a pair
of assists and two steals. Dana
Walsh (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley) added 14 points,
three rebounds, a pair of assists and two blocked shots while
Lindsay
Finnerty (Tenafly, N.J./Tenafly) scored 10 points and
made four steals.
Muhlenberg 67, McDaniel 47
Senior Kate Clawson scored 15 points to lead four
players in double figures as the Muhlenberg women's basketball team
defeated McDaniel, 67-47. Muhlenberg made eight of its 17
three-point attempts (47.1 percent) in the first half and finished
the game 11-for-25 from behind the arc. Thanks to their hot
shooting, the Mules clinched a berth for the Centennial Conference
playoffs with just two regular-season games remaining.
