Muhlenberg's Tallamy Named Player of the Week

Tallamy averaged 20.0 points and 8.5 rebounds and made important plays as Muhlenberg opened its CC season with two overtime wins. She contributed to six of the Mules' 10 points in the extra period against Swarthmore with three points and an assist, and her three-point play with 1:04 left in overtime accounted for what proved to be the winning points against Washington.

 

 

 


Notebook:

Dickinson freshman Mary Martin continued to have a strong start to her collegiate career, averaging 10.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game last week. She recorded a double-double against Haverford, scoring 10 points and controlling 10 rebounds. 

Gettysburg senior Caroline Murphy poured in a career-high 25 points in a 65-56 win over Swarthmore on Nov. 23. The senior forward finished 11-of-19 from the field and 2-of-2 from the free throw line, adding six rebounds, three assists, and one blocked shot. She also turned in eight points in a loss at Ursinus and finished the week averaging 16.5 points and six rebounds per game.

Johns Hopkins senior Fatu Conteh scored a career-high 21 points to help the Blue Jays earn their second straight Centennial victory over Ursinus on Saturday. She also posted 13 points in the team's 72-47 victory over Dickinson, while averaging 4.5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals the past week. 

McDaniel junior Steph Perez led the Green Terror to a 2-0 and first 4-0 start to a season since 2003.

Swarthmore junior Elle Larsen averaged a double-double over a pair of Garnet losses this past week by contributing 21.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game. She most notably netted a career-high 28 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and also added two blocks and two steals in a one-point setback in overtime against Muhlenberg. 

Ursinus sophomore Jessica Porada scored 24 in the loss to Johns Hopkins and made 50 percent of her shots.

Washington College senior Latisha Pledger had career-bests of 23 points, three steals and 13 made free throws against Muhlenberg on Saturday, November 23 in an overtime contest.  The senior also grabbed 11 rebounds to tally a double-double, her first of the season.  She scored 11 points in the first half and 10 in the second half.

Katie Lytle, Sr, Swarthmore

Katie Lytle was named the MVP of the 13th Annual Swarthmore Tip-Off Tournament and became the ninth player in program history to score at least 1,000 points in her career after leading the Garnet to a 2-0 start with wins over Kean, 59-42, and Connecticut College by a 58-55 score. Lytle, who registered a double-double in both games, most notably racked up 29 points, 14 rebounds and five steals in the championship battle against Connecticut College. All three marks against the Camels were game highs.
