Oden, Rice & Landau Named D3hoops.com All-Region

D3hoops.com All-Region 5 Team

Johns Hopkins' Diarra Oden, Gettysburg's Carly Rice and Haverford's Ally Landau were named to the D3hoops.com All-Region 5 team. Oden earned first team honors, Rice landed on the second team, and Landau collected third team accolades.

Oden is the seventh Blue Jays to earn all-region via D3hoops since 2005 and the second first team selection in program history, joining Lyndsay Burton (2011). Oden continues to add on to a lengthy list of accolades for her efforts in 2021-22. Earlier this season, Oden was named Centennial Conference Player of the Year, CoSIDA Academic All-District, and a Jostens Trophy finalist.

A three-time captain, Oden's name is littered throughout the Blue Jay record books after averaging 16.2 points and 5.0 rebounds per contest this season. Oden's 437 points scored this year were good for 13th in program history and her 16.2 points per game were good for 16th. Oden made 108 free throws on the season, placing her sixth in single-season history. In the individual career records, Oden ranks fifth in free throws made (257), eighth in minutes per game (27.7), eighth in points per game (13.4), 11th in free throw percentage (.769) 12th in points scored (1,073), 15th in three-point field goals made (78), 17th in defensive rebounds (271), 18th in field goals made (369) and 20th in steals (137).

Rice becomes Gettysburg's 13th all-region selection by D3hoops since 2005. On the court, Rice emerged as one of the top players in the Centennial Conference and paced the team with 13.1 points per game to go along with 4.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. She finished sixth in the conference in points per game and her 49 made three-pointers ranked No. 2 overall in the league. The senior guard persevered through nagging injuries late in the season and was one of just two Bullets to start all 29 contests.

Rice, who was named All-CC First Team this season, shined down the stretch with six 20-point efforts in her last 10 games, including a career-high 28 in a non-conference win over Stevens Institute of Technology on Feb. 7. Rice also dropped 22 points on Washington College in the semifinals of the conference playoffs and posted 21 against SUNY Morrisville in the first round of the NCAA Division III Championship. A two-time all-conference selection, Rice finished her career with 682 points, 241 rebounds, and 112 three-pointers over 74 games. She ranks eighth in program history in three-pointers made.

Landau becomes just the fourth D3Hoops.com all-region selection from Haverford and the first to achieve the award in her rookie season. Landau was the only underclassman to earn All-Region 5 honors. All players chosen to the D3hoops.com All-Region teams are now immediately eligible for All-American selection.

The Livingston, N.J. product finished second in the Centennial Conference in points per game (16.2), tallying double-digit scoring totals in all but four games this season. Landau was named Centennial Conference Player of the Week on January 18 after averaging 21.7 points and 5.3 rebounds in a 3-0 week for the Fords. A true two-way threat, Landau was first in the conference in total points, (421) field goals made (168) as well as second in assists (91), and steals (66).
