Women’s Golf Athlete of the Week 4/17/18

Skylar Frankiewicz, So., Gettysburg

Frankiewicz won all three events she competed in last week. She opened the week by firing an 82 to take the top spot in a dual with York College. The sophomore carded a career-low tying 75 to top a field of 30 at the Dickinson Red Devil All-American Classic. Frankiewicz closed the week with a 78 and won Gettysburg's own invitational by five strokes.

Women’s Golf Athlete of the Week 4/10/18

Hannah Fireman, So., Gettysburg
Ambler, Pa. / Hatboro-Horsham

Hannah Fireman fired an 82 to capture her first collegiate title at the McDaniel Spring Invite. The sophomore erased a three-stroke deficit by shooting two-over on the back nine, including birdies on the 12th and 17th holes. Fireman closed the weekend with a 91 in a dual with Dickinson.

 

Women’s Golf Athlete of the Week 4/3/18

Aine Filler, Jr., Muhlenberg
Moorestown, N.J. / Moorestown

Junior Aine Filler shot an 85 to tie for second place and lead the Muhlenberg women's golf team to a third-place finish at the Scotland Run Shootout, hosted by Arcadia in Williamstown, N.J. Competing for the first time this year, Filler was three strokes off the lead in placing in the top five for the 14th time in 17 career tournaments. 

 


Women's Golf Athlete of the Week 10/3/17

Emily McGarrigle, Jr, Ursinus

McGarrigle shattered the previous school record of 80 with a 74 at Tuesday's UC Fall Invitational. The junior, who eclipsed her previous career best by two strokes, finished one shot behind Penn State-Harrisburg's Allison Cooper in the individual standings. McGarrigle's 74 is tied for the third-lowest score in Centennial Conference history. She followed with an 89 at the Gettysburg Invitational on Saturday.

Bertacche continued her impressive fall with her third-straight top-five finish on Sunday at the two-day Bridgewater Fall Invitational ... Only falling to the reigning DIII national champion, Bertacche took second place with rounds of 79 (+7) and 73 (+1), good enough to beat out two Division I golfers and five Division II golfers ... The final round on Sunday of 73 (+1) tied the program record for low round, a record she set last season ... As a team on Sunday, the Saints totaled a round of 337, the team's lowest round in school history, as they took fifth at the event. 
 
 

WOMEN’S GOLF ATHLETE OF THE WEEK 9/19/17

Alessandra Bertacche, Jr, Marymount University
Portogruaro, Italy/Liceo Classico XXV Aprile

Bertacche grabbed her second fourth-place finish through the first two tournaments of the season this past weekend in the two-day Greene Turtle Invitational hosted by Shenandoah University, carding identical rounds of 83 (+11)... She helped the Saints to a fifth-place team finish. 

 

WOMEN’S GOLF ATHLETE OF THE WEEK 9/12/17

Kat Hodges, Soph, Muhlenberg
The Woodlands, Texas/The Woodlands College Park

Kat Hodges started her sophomore season with the Muhlenberg women's golf team by winning a tournament, capturing medalist honors at the Swarthmore/Neumann Invitational. Hodges shot an 82 to come in three strokes ahead of the second-place finisher.
