Basso Earns Second IWLCA National Player of the Week Award

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – Jordan Basso, a junior on the Gettysburg women's lacrosse team, has been named the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association (IWLCA) Division III Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Apr. 10-16.

It is the second time this season that Basso has earned the national recognition.

Basso, who earned the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season nod earlier in the day, led the Bullets (10-3, 5-0 CC) to a 19-13 come-from-behind win at Haverford on Saturday to set up a first-place showdown at Franklin & Marshall on Wednesday night. Basso registered a career-high 10 points on a career-best eight goals and added two assists. She also had two ground balls and a caused turnover in the six-goal win.

For the season, she leads the team with 45 goals, 28 assists and 73 points. She also has 13 ground balls and nine caused turnovers.

Gettysburg, ranked eighth in the latest IWLCA Division III coaches' poll, returns to action at No. 10 Franklin & Marshall on Wednesday. Game time is 7 p.m.
