Gettysburg's Sullivan Named IWLCA Offensive Player of the Week

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – Caroline Sullivan (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Ludlowe), a junior on the Gettysburg women's lacrosse team, has been named the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association (IWLCA) Division III Offensive Player of the Week for the week of May 8-14.

It is the first time this season that Sullivan has earned the national recognition and third time a Bullet player has been honored.

Sullivan led the ninth-ranked Bullets (16-4, 9-0 Centennial Conference) to a 15-6 win over No. 24 Christopher Newport in the second round of the NCAA tournament on Sunday. She recorded three goals and four assists. She also chipped in three ground balls and a draw control.

For the season, she is second on the team with 71 points, contributing a conference-high 43 assists to go with 31 goals. She also has 37 ground balls, 17 caused turnovers and 15 draw controls.

Gettysburg returns to action at No. 2 Washington and Lee in the third round of the NCAA tournament on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
