SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Sophomore Hannah
Lichtenstein scored twice to propel the Swarthmore
College women's soccer team to a 3-1 victory over McDaniel on
Saturday, Oct. 18 at Clothier Field.
All of the scoring came in the first half, beginning with two
consecutive Lichtenstein strikes within a span of 2:25. The
sophomore finished passes from classmateMiranda
Saldivar and senior Emma
Sindelar in the 27th and 30th minutes, respectively,
to put Swarthmore up by a 2-0 score.
McDaniel (8-3-3, CC 2-2-2) sliced the deficit in half when Kristen
Upton headed in a corner kick taken by Erica Diffendal in the 34th
minute, but the Garnet had an answer before halftime and held on
the rest of the way. Sophomore Caroline
Khanna headed in a cross from Sindelar before
colliding with McDaniel goalkeeper Haley Jacobs to close out the
scoring in the waning minutes of the first half.
Junior Reba
Magier of Swarthmore made four saves to pick up the
victory, while McDaniel's Jacobs was tagged with the loss after

half. Sarah McDonald relieved Jacobs and made one stop in the
second half.
