DeMarco Resigns as BMC Soccer Coach

BRYN MAWR, Pa. – After 10 seasons at the helm of the Owls soccer program, veteran coach Erin DeMarco has announced her resignation from the Bryn Mawr Department of Athletics and Physical Education. DeMarco will be moving on to Colgate University, where she will serve as an assistant director in the compliance and academic achievement departments.

"Coach DeMarco has been a valuable asset during her tenure, not just to the Owls athletic program, but to the Bryn Mawr College community as a whole," stated Bryn Mawr Director of Athletics Kathy Tierney. "All of the work Erin put in during her time here was dedicated towards our mission of building smart, strong women, and we are incredibly grateful for those efforts. We know this was not an easy decision, but we wish her all the best as she takes on her new role."

"Bryn Mawr has been a tremendous community to be a part of and to learn from over the past ten years," DeMarco stated. "More than anything, I am grateful for the relationships built across campus with student-athletes, staff, faculty, and alumnae. I'd like to thank President Cassidy and Athletic Director Kathy Tierney, my department colleagues, and the student-athletes I've coached for their support and dedication, and I appreciate the opportunities we shared as Bryn Mawr Athletics continues to grow."

DeMarco arrived to coach the Owls in the 2006 campaign, and since then has built a solid foundation for the soccer program. Her winning percentage was the highest of any coach since 1993, and her 46 career victories at the helm of the Bryn Mawr soccer team are the second-most in program history. Meanwhile, the academic success of DeMarco's teams was always at the forefront as well. The Owls were honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America with the Team Academic Award for nine straight seasons under DeMarco, and she had 34 players named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll during her tenure.

"This is another exciting opportunity for us to continue building Bryn Mawr and the soccer team into a strong and successful program for years to come," Tierney closed. "We look forward to aggressively searching for the next head soccer coach at Bryn Mawr immediately."
