Centennial Notebook

     The Owls were unable to keep their early lead, as four straight goals from the Diplomats gave the visitors a 4-1 win. Senior goalkeeper Leah Baer made nine saves for the Owls.

     Dickinson claimed a key Centennial Conference win at Haverford, topping the hosts, 1-0, in overtime. Killian Donahue served a free kick to the back post and Charlotte Glancy redirected a header into the back of the net to claim the victory, just 1:16 into the first overtime. The Red Devils held the edge in the shots, 5-4, while Haverford forced three corners while allowing just two from Dickinson.

     Nicolette Runko tallied a pair of goals as Franklin & Marshall battled back from a first-half deficit to earn its first Centennial Conference win of the season over Bryn Mawr, 4-1. F&M dominated the overall shot count at 30-4, as well as corners at 8-1.

   24th-ranked Swarthmore posted the game-winning goal at the 75th minute to slip 1-0 past Gettysburg. After tonight's loss, Gettysburg finds itself in fifth place in the Centennial Conference standings. Swarthmore ended the match outshooting the Bullets 15-6, but Gettysburg owned the 5-2 advantage in corner kicks. Freshman Madelyn Cunningham stopped six shots with four of them coming in the second half.

     Haverford suffered a tough 1-0 overtime setback on Saturday against Dickinson. The Red Devils finished the match with a 5-4 edge in shots, but Haverford held the upper hand with a 3-2 advantage in corner kicks. With Saturday’s result, the Fords are currently just one point back of a playoff spot with two matches to go in the regular season.

     Maggie Coulson and Michelle Santangelo combined for 12 points as the fourth-ranked Johns Hopkins earned its 12th straight win as the Blue Jays defeated Ursinus, 5-1. The Blue Jays outshot Ursinus 28-2 in the match. Santangelo tabbed her fifth career hat tricks which ties the JHU career record held by Hannah KronickSantangelo was named CC Co-Offensive Player of the Week.

     McDaniel scored three second-half goals to break a 1-all halftime deadlock and top Muhlenberg, 4-1. Maddie Schwartz scored two goals and added an assist to lead the Green Terror. McDaniel finished with edges of 14-11 in shots and 7-4 in corner kicks. Katherine Carstensen made seven saves in goal. The Green Terror is one point from officially clinching a playoff berth. Schwartz was named CC Co-Offensive Player of the Week. Carstensen was named CC Defensive Player of the Week.

     Muhlenberg equalized an early goal but allowed three in the second half and fell to McDaniel, 4-1. McDaniel held a 14-11 edge in shots and 7-4 advantage in corner kicks.

     Swarthmore punched its ticket into the Centennial Conference postseason tournament with a 1-0 win over Gettysburg. Swarthmore out-shot the Bullets 15-6 on Saturday and found the game's only goal in the 76th minute.

      Johns Hopkins forwards Michelle Santangelo and Maggie Coulson combined for all five goals to lead the No. 4 Blue Jays past the Bears, 5-1. Sophomore midfielder Angela Gervasi scored the lone goal for Ursinus. CC saves leader Ursinus sophomore goalie Sabrina Doherty made 12 saves in a busy day in goal. Johns Hopkins was on the offensive attack for a majority of the match, ripping an astounding 28 shots compared to Ursinus’ 2.

     Washington College rallied twice from one-goal deficits to tie with host Stockton, 2-2, in double overtime. Washington College tied in shots 14-14 and led in corners 6-4. The Shorewomen, who are now 7-5-1 on the year, clinch their first-ever non-losing season in team history.

      Johns Hopkins has 61 all-time first-team selections- the highest total in the Conference. Gettysburg (50) and Muhlenberg (33) are second and third, followed by Swarthmore (28), Dickinson (23), Haverford (23), McDaniel (22), Franklin & Marshall (18), Ursinus (6) and Bryn Mawr (4).
