March 3, 2014 Amanda Austi, Fr, Johns Hopkins Austi went 3-0 at first singles to help Johns Hopkins to its second straight ITA National Team Indoor Championship. She opened the tournament with a 6-4, 6-1 win as JHU defeated UC Santa Cruz, 9-0. In the semifinals, Austi came from behind to win 2-6, 7-6, 6-2 and give the Blue Jays a 3-2 lead before eventually winning 6-3 over Pomona-Pitzer. On Sunday, Austi once again came from behind to win and clinch the title for Hopkins over Carnegie Mellon. After dropping her first set 6-4, she lost just one game in the next two sets to win 4-6, 6-1, 6-0. |

Franklin & Marshall sophomore Emily Gruenberg earned a 6-3, 6-4 win from the No. 4 singles position and teamed up with Rachel Weinstein at No. 3 doubles for an 8-4 victory to help Franklin & Marshall take down Salisbury (ranked No. 7 in the atlantic south region) by a narrow 5-4 score on Saturday afternoon.
Swarthmore senior Lia Carlson went a perfect 2-0 at No. 1 singles play and also picked up a doubles point to begin the spring season. She first earned a hard-fought 7-6, 6-4 win over her Skidmore opponent. She also earned a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles and teamed up with freshman Alli Wong for an 8-2 triumph at No. 1 doubles against RPI. All in all, Carlson factored into three of the Garnet's five singles and doubles wins over the two matches in the Capital District.
