• The Short Story: The 14th-ranked Johns Hopkins women's tennis team beat 25th-ranked Swarthmore, 5-0, to claim the program's 13th consecutive Centennial Conference Championship Sunday morning.
 
How it Happened 
• Hopkins jumped out to a 3-0 lead by sweeping the doubles and then earned wins at first and third singles to bring home the trophy. Sophomore Anjie Kashyap and junior Sophia Strickland did not drop a game as they picked up the first point of the match in their win over Elise Talley and Christina Wang at first doubles.
• Freshman Evelyn Chang and senior Katie Gauch followed with an 8-4 win over Sophie Brown and Sonia Varma at third. Sophomore Dhanya Asokumarand senior Kimberly Zou trailed 6-5 at second to Vivien Fernandez-Ravelo and Emma Kassan, but won the final three games to take the match, 8-6.
• Zou pushed Hopkins' lead to 4-0 as she beat Fernandez-Ravelo 6-2, 7-5 at third singles. Zou trailed 5-3 in the second set, but won four straight games to win the match. Kashyap then closed out the win and the championship with a 6-4, 6-4 win at first over Kassan.  
 
What it Means
• Hopkins is now 29-18 all-time against Swarthmore and has won 20 straight in the series. JHU is 8-1 against Swarthmore in the Centennial Conference Tournament.
• The Blue Jays are now 13-0 in Centennial Conference title matches and 26-1 in the tournament.
• Gauch was named the Centennial Conference Tournament MVP for the second straight year.
• Hopkins ties the school record for consecutive wins with 16.
• Zou has 98 totals wins in her career as she needs just two to become the sixth player in program history to reach 100 career wins.
