Track Athlete of the Week

Claudia Keep, Jr, Bryn Mawr

Keep ran a blazing time of 16:48.07 in the Olympic Development 5k run at the 2014 Penn Relays. She finished in 10th place while lowering her school record in the event by more than 27-seconds. Keep's time is also the fastest time of the outdoor reason for the conference as she enters this coming weekend's championships.

Sara Patterson, Sr, Dickinson

Patterson had another monster outing on Wednesday, breaking a pair of Centennial Conference records at the Dickinson Twilight Invitational. The senior ran away from the field to break the 1986 school mark in the 3000 meters with a time of 9:48..35. She doubled-back to anchor the distance medley relay to another record, posting a time of 12:32.45.

Maggie Shelton, Sr, Johns Hopkins

Senior Maggie Shelton further cemented herself into the record brooks on April 18, capturing both the Johns Hopkins and Centennial Conference records in the 800 meter at the Larry Ellis Invitational hosted by Princeton. Shelton finished in 2:07.29 to win her heat and finish seventh overall in the field loaded with Division I and club runners. Shelton’s time topped Annie Monagle’s school record of 2:08.73 set last season, and also bested Annick Lamar’s (Haverford) conference record of 2:08.15 set back in 2008. Shelton is currently ranked first in the nation in the event.

Sara Patterson, Sr, Dickinson

Patterson had another great weekend, setting the school record in the 10,000 meters to place second overall at Bucknell in the 10k- Invitational event. Patterson clocked the top time in the Centennial this season, ranking third on the national qualifying list.

Megan McDonald, So, Johns Hopkins

Sophomore Megan McDonald highlighted Friday's performances for the Jays at the Stanford Invitational, breaking two of her own Hopkins records in the women’s 400 meter run and 400 meter hurdles. The Arden, NC native finished fourth in her heat in the 400m race with a time of 57.07, topping her previous school record set at last year’s Centennial Championships (57.68). The time also topped her career-best on any track, breaking her indoor record of 57.34 set on February 7. McDonald also broke her record in the 400 meter hurdles, finishing second in her heat with a time of 62.09 to best her previous fastest time by 0.69 seconds. McDonald is currently ranked second in the nation in the 400m and fourth in the 400m hurdles.

Sara Patterson, Sr, Dickinson

Patterson had a great meet, leading the Red Devils to the Little Three team title. She won three events on the day, posting individual wins on the 800 (2:21.90) meters and the 1500 (4:45.68). She also anchored the winning 4x800 relay (10:23.61).

Sara Stupi, So, Gettysburg

Stupi was part of two winning events at the Elizabethtown Opener. She won the 100-meter dash in 13.00, beating out 11 other competitors, and she was part of the winning 4x100-meter relay team that took first among five teams with a time of 51.56.
