Three Named to All-Region Team

Complete AVCA All-Region team

Franklin & Marshall freshman, Julie Harvey, was named American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Mid-Atlantic Region Freshman of the Year. Harvey also landed on the All-Region First Team, which assures her All-America consideration. The Freshman of the Year honor is the first in program history.

This is the second postseason award for Harvey. Two days ago, she was named Centennial Conference (CC) Co-Player of the Year and also earned first team honors. Harvey became the first freshman and fifth Diplomats to receive the Player of the Year honor.

Harvey led the Diplomats in hitting percentage (.340), kills (358) and blocks (56) and finished tops in the CC in hitting percentage, second in both kills and points (4.11 per game) and 10th in blocks.

Senior Melissa Cole and freshman Meagan Donohoe earned their second post-season awards as they were named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association All-Mid-Atlantic Region First Team, as announced Thursday afternoon. The duo is the Johns Hopkins volleyball team's fourth and fifth honorees and the first two since 2007.

Cole is a two-time All-Centennial Conference honoree and served as one of the three team captains this season. She was second on the team in digs with 281 to give her 997 in her career and break into the top-10 all-time digs list for JHU. The outside hitter now has 244 kills, 28 blocks and 24 service aces this season and is ranked 13th all time in the Blue Jay record book for kills with 780 in her career.

Donohoe was named the first freshman in school history to the All-Centennial Conference First Team and is the first freshman to make the All-Conference team since 2005. She is also the first freshman for the Blue Jays to receive All-Region honors from the AVCA. Donohoe leads the team in kills (254) and currently has a team-best .332 hitting percentage. The right side hitter has 32 blocks, 14 service aces and 47 digs to her credit as well this season. The freshman was named CC Player of the Week twice this season, September 20 and October 25, for two of the Blue Jays three weekly honors.
