LANCASTER, Pa. -- Six records fell and Johns Hopkins took the early lead in the team standings on day one of the 2023 Centennial Conference indoor track & field championships Saturday at Franklin & Marshall.  JHU holds a 68-55 edge over Ursinus on the men's side, while the Blue Jay women posted 117 points on day one to take a commanding lead.

Ursinus' Isaiah Battle and the Dickinson women's 4x200 relay headlined the record-breaking performances by taking down conference and championship records. Battle broke his own conference and championship marks in the weight throw, registering a toss of 18.00 meters. The Red Devil 4x200 quartet of Erin Olsavsky, Sara Penuela, Darya Mikusova, and Emerlee Simons raced to gold in 1:44.26, breaking the previous record of 1:45.70 held by Haverford since 2009.

Four other championship records fell on day one. On the women's side, JHU's Victoria Kadiri broke the meet triple jump mark (12.18m) and Swarthmore's Adria Retter set a new championship standard in the weight throw (16.31m). Two relay teams broke championship marks on the men's side - Ursinus' 4x200 team of Aiden Tobin, Daniel Tabor, Mason Jolivette and Collin Ney (1:30.34), and the Haverford distance medley relay of Reza Eshghi, Ravi Eaton, Matt Denton, and Jamie Moreland (10:00.77).
