Head Coach Darwin Breaux

Breaux (West Chester ‘77) enters his 21st year as Dickinson’s head coach ... he is the winningest football coach in school history with a 121-83-1 career record … Breaux was named the AFCA South Region Coach of the Year in 1994 … he led the Red Devils to Conference titles in 1993, 1994, 2004 and 2006.

The Red Devil offense never really hit its stride last season but with the experience of 10 returning starters, 2013 could be a different story ... junior Cole Ahnell will be under center ... he led the team in rushing (449) and passing (1,106) yards a year ago, accounting for nine touchdowns ... two of his top receivers return in junior Eric Ondo (23 catches) and senior Colin Rodgers (20), while senior TE Todd Smolinsky averaged 13 yards on eight receptions ... four starters are back on the line, led by juniors Justin Reamer and Chris Holmes ... they'll look to open holes for sophomore TB Shawn Wilson (247) who came on strong at the end of last season.

The Dickinson defense uncharacteristically struggled in 2012, surrendering nearly 400 yards and over 30 points per game ... five starters are back looking to turn things around, including all three LBs return ... leading tackler Shane Mitchell (71), senior Mike Miller (61) and junior Connor Thompson (68) are the most experienced trio of linebackers in the Conference ... Thompson also shared the team lead in interceptions (2) ... senior CB Robert Spriggs and sophomore Jack Margavitch head the secondary.

Junior Adam Kaminski handles the kicking duties for the Red Devils ... he averaged 38.3 yards per punt and was 21-of-22 on PATs and 6-of-7 on three-pointers.

2013 Outlook

Dickinson suffered through growing pains a year ago, but hopes that the lessons learned from a 4-6 campaign of 2012 pays dividends this fall ... the Red Devils will be better, but are still a year away from contention for a Conference crown.

 

Biddle Field (capacity 2,577) is home to the football field, outdoor track, tennis courts and areas for soccer, field hockey and lacrosse. In 2009, the field underwent an extensive renovation and now features an eco-friendly lighting system, synthetic turf used by many professional sports teams and Division I colleges, new fencing and an eight-lane track that conforms to NCAA standards for competition.
