Head Coach Jeff Pukszyn

Pukszyn (Moravian ’97) enters his third season with a 4-16 record … he was named head coach of the Greyhounds on July 1 after 10 years as assistant head coach … Puksyzn joined the Moravian staff full-time in 1999 … he is the 12th head coach at Moravian since 1930 and just the fourth since 1955.

The Greyhound offense has struggled over the last two seasons, averaging just 11.7 points and 230.1 yards per game a year ago ... senior Robbie Moyer is the leading candidate at QB ... he threw for 350 yards and running for 242 more in 2011 ... junior RB Tom Froehlich is the leading returning rusher ... soph WR Jimmy McCarthy was named the Centennial Rookie of the Year, grabbing 39 passes for 505 yards ... classmate Will McLaughlin snared 24 passes for 360 yards and combines with McCarthy and Jason Fuehring for a talented receiving corps ... senior OT Julian DiGiacomo is a three-year starter and anchors the interior line along with junior OT Jacob McKee ... sophomores Max Neis and Daniel Smith return as starters at OG.

Moravian's defense finished in the bottom half of the Conference last fall but looks to turn that around with the return of seven starters ... a trio of juniors bring experience to the linebacking corps ... Kevin Bracken had a strong season with 66 tackles, five for loss, and two sacks ... Ed Buoye had 51 stops, including four for loss, while Richard Kugel added 36 tackles ... senior Brandon Lesko is the leading returning tackler (69), while CB Rees Judge led the team with four interceptions ... senior Fran Corbett and sophomore Ryan Pysher head the front four.

2013 Outlook

It has been a challenging two years for the Greyhounds but a talented sophomore class is showing signs of turning Moravian's fortunes around. A new offensive philosophy will help and the 'Hounds could cause problems in the Conference in 2013.

 

 

The Rocco Calvo Field was renovated in 2005. The old playing surface was replaced with a synthetic surface produce by Sportexe. Sportexe Momentum™ is designed to be dense, firm, fast -- a superior surface to handle the demands of top level athletics.  There were also renovations to the structure of the grandstand with new seating added on both the home and visitor sides of the field.
