The Bullets posted seven wins in a season for the first time since 1994 behind an offense that averaged 37.5 points and 439.3 yards per game ... with only four starters back from that unit, Gettysburg may be challenged to post those video-game numbers in 2013 ... junior Zach Miller (pictured) is the heir apparent at QB after playing sparingly his first two seasons ... soph Kevin McCarthy is the leading returning rusher after gaining 127 yards a year ago, while senior Peter Fessenden picked up 73 ... senior WR Aden Twer leads the receiving corps ... one of the fastest players in the Conference, he caught 22 balls for 350 yards and four scores a year ago ... senior Matt Pennella grabbed 11 passes, while McCarthy caught 15 from his wing position ... juniors Matt Gentile and Mike Reali are the leaders of the offensive line.

The Orange and Blue defense was much improved in 2012, ranking just outside the top 50 nationally in scoring and total defense ... four starters are back in the fold, led by senior LB Cody DiAmore ... he was fourth in the Conference with 87 tackles, including 6.5 for loss, and also picked off three passes ... soph Kodie McNamara will join DiAmore after recording 83 stops as a rookie ... senior Hugo Nolasco heads the secondary from his CB position ... a three-year starter, he had 31 tackles, six pass breakups and an interception a year ago ... junior Gordon Prince joins him after making 39 stops in 2012 ... senior Anthony De Rosa, junior A.J. Hill and soph Charles McDonald will compete for time up front.

Special Teams Preview

Starters Returning (2)
P/K-Robby Fay, Soph., 5-8, 165

Sophomore Robby Fay averaged nearly 34 yards per punt and was 47-of-50 on extra-points as a rookie.

2013 Outlook

Gettysburg registered one of its best seasons in recent memory in 2012 but will be hard-pressed to equal or surpass seven wins. The Bullets' offense will still cause problems for Centennial defenses, but a lack of experience on the offensive and defensive lines could prove to be too much for the Orange and Blue this fall.

Dedicated in September 1965 with a ceremony attended by President Dwight D. Eisenhower, Musselman Stadium is the home to Gettysburg field hockey, football, men's lacrosse, and men's and women's outdoor track & field. In September 2003, Shirk Field at Musselman Stadium was converted from natural grass to AstroPlay, a state-of-the-art in-fill synthetic grass surface. The renovation was made possible through the generosity of Dick Shirk '67, for whom the field is named.
