2014 Outlook

Gettysburg's fortunes will be determined by the performance of the defense ... the offense has averaged over 400 yards in each of the last six seasons ... but the defense has allowed over 375 in five of those six ... the Orange and Blue will be hard-pressed to finish above .500 without a change in the defensive numbers.

Head Coach Barry Streeter

Streeter (Lebanon Valley ‘71) begins his 36th season on the sideline for the Bullets … the winningest football coach in school history, he enters 2014 with 178-171-5 overall record … Streeter, who has won Centennial titles in 1983, 1984 and 1985, led the 1985 squad to the national semifinals, finishing with an 11-1-1 record.

The Bullets' offense was not the problem last season, averaging 459 yards and nearly 31 points per game ... in fact, Gettysburg has averaged over 400 yards and 30 points in each of the last six seasons ... senior QB Zach Miller threw for nearly 2,500 yards and 15 TDs in his first season as a starter ... junior TB Kyle Wigley averaged 5.8 yards per carry on his way to 855 yards on the season, while grabbing 22 passes ... senior WB Fred Caruso averaged 6.6 yards per rush and 14 yards per reception ... four seniors are part of an interior line that returns all five starters, led by preseason All-American Mike Reali ... Gettysburg should score points in 2014.

Shirk Field at Musselman Stadium

Dedicated in September 1965 with a ceremony attended by President Dwight D. Eisenhower, Musselman Stadium is the home to Gettysburg field hockey, football, men's lacrosse, and men's and women's outdoor track & field. In September 2003, Shirk Field at Musselman Stadium was converted from natural grass to AstroPlay, a state-of-the-art in-fill synthetic grass surface. The renovation was made possible through the generosity of Dick Shirk '67, for whom the field is named.

Home Record (1983-2013): 88-67-3 (.566)
