Women's Soccer Draws Blank at Gettysburg

GETTYSBURG, Pa. - The Ursinus College women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision at Gettysburg in Saturday's Centennial Conference opener.

The Bears managed just three shots on the afternoon, while first-year keeper Mandy Carideo did her best to keep the relentless Bullets at bay. Carideo finished with nine saves, ensuring that Ursinus (1-3-1, 0-1) stayed competitive throughout.

Gettysburg broke through 25 minutes into the contest courtesy of an Erika Muskus goal. The orange and blue kept the pressure up throughout and added an insurance tally in the 77th off the boot of Ashley Carbonier.

Gettysburg finished with a 22-3 advantage in shots and took six corners while not allowing one to the Bears.

Alex Chalmers, Makayla Heisler, and Skylar Knapp recorded the shots for Ursinus, which is back in action at home against Bryn Mawr on Wednesday night.
