Carideo Collects Career High

HAVERFORD, Pa. - Mandy Carideo kept Haverford at bay with a stellar performance between the pipes, but the hosts eventually proved too much as a pair of second-half goals separated them for a 2-0 Centennial Conference victory.

Carideo kept Ursinus competitive with a career-high 10 saves, and even the Fords' goals came off of initial stops by the first-year netminder.

Carideo had half of her season-best total before Haverford got on the board in the 52nd minute, when she stoned the initial attempt but saw Gabrielle Cipriano put home the rebound for the opening goal. The situation repeated itself in the 66th minute as Carideo made the initial save only for Celia Page to push in an insurance tally.

Carideo registered two saves in the final minute to go over her previous season high of nine, established earlier in the fall at Gettysburg.

Haverford outshot the Bears, 16-4, and owned a 5-1 edge in corners.

The Bears stay on the Main Line to meet Swarthmore on Wednesday.
