Highlights:

  • The Diplomats scored first in the top of the first with the Maroons answering back in the bottom of the first on a two-out Conner Butler single that scored Jonny Wall from first.
  • Butler would ground out to the pitcher in the bottom of the third, but it allowed Ty Staz to score from third to put the Maroons on top after three complete.
  • In the fourth, Jacob Bonzon got his second hit of the game that scored Spencer Rhoads from second, giving Roanoke a 3-1 lead.
  • The Maroons started off the fifth with a double and walk before a passed ball allowed Butler to reach second and Wall to reach third. During the next at-bat, the Diplomats threw to second in a steal attempt, but Butler ran home on the throw without an attempt to get him out.
