PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Joe Borelli, Johns Hopkins (Gr, C, Wyckoff, NJ / Ramapo)

Borelli hit three home runs, drove in nine runs and scored four more in a 4-0 week for the Blue Jays. He was 10-for-23 at the plate (.435), had a pair of doubles and posted a .913 slugging percentage.

 

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Sean White, Dickinson (Jr, LHP, Summit, NJ / Salisbury School, CT)

White set a program and Conference record with 21 strikeouts in a 19-0 victory against McDaniel. He allowed two walks and four hits in a complete-game effort.

Dickinson junior LHP Sean White (Summit, NJ / Salisbury School, CT) set a Conference record by striking out 21 McDaniel batters in a 19-0 victory. The 21 K's bested the old standard of 19 set by the Terror's David Skoczlas vs. Lincoln on March 9, 2002.

Swarthmore freshman DH Nicko Burnett (Anaheim, CA / Lutheran) had six doubles among his nine hits in five games last week.

 

Junior OF Nick Busillo (Media, PA / Malvern Prep) hit Muhlenberg's first walkoff home run since April 4, 2006, delivering a two-out, three-run bomb to defeat Swarthmore. Sophomore LHP Rob Shannon (West Caldwell, NJ / James Caldwell) became the first Mule to throw at least eight shutout innings in a game since March 30, 2005, vs. Gettysburg.

 

It was a good week for Haverford freshman RHP Patrick Falkoff (Branford, CT / Hamden Hall Country Day), who picked up a win and a save in 7.2 innings of scoreless relief.

 

Hopkins junior RHP Alex Eliopoulos (Arlington, VA / The Heights School) and Gettysburg sophomore LHP Ryan Taylor (Eldersburg, MD / Loyola Blakefield) gave a pitching display last Friday in the Jays' 3-0 victory. Eliopoulos allowed just three hits and struck out 10, while Taylor gave up just four hits and fanned nine.

 

Washington College has won at least 16 games in each of the last three seasons. The last time that occurred on the Shore was 1996-97-98.

 

Ursinus junior SS Brandon Sullivan (Gilbertsville, PA / Boyertown) had four hits and drove in six runs in the Bears' 16-13 win at Haverford.

 

Haverford senior SS Charlie Carluccio (West Windsor, NJ / West Windsor-Plainsboro North) is now ninth on the Conference career RBI list (135) and needs 15 more to become just the fifth Centennial player to reach 150.
