AROUND THE CONFERENCE - complete release

Johns Hopkins won its fifth straight Centennial title with wins over Ursinus, Franklin & Marshall and Haverford in the double-elimination championship tournament. It is the Blue Jays’ 12th Conference crown.

Dickinson raised its school record for wins in a season to 21 with a 6-3 victory over Muhlenberg. The Red Devils had not won more than 17 games in a season since joining the Centennial in 1994.

Franklin & Marshall SS Matt Will (Oreland, PA / Upper Dublin) closed his career as the school’s all-time leader in on-base percentage (.511) and runs scored (160). He drew 41 walks this season, becoming just the third player in Centennial history to amass 40 or more bases-on-balls.

Gettysburg senior RHP Matt Karis (Southborough, MA / Noble & Greenough School) tied the school single-season record for complete games (8). Sophomore LHP Ryan Taylor’s (Eldersburg, MD / Loyola Blakefield) 74 strikeouts was the most by a Bullet pitcher since 1990.

Haverford SS Charlie Carluccio (W. Windsor, NJ / W. Windsor-Plainsboro North) is tied for eighth place on the Centennial career hit list (190) and tied for ninth with 20 home runs.

Muhlenberg senior 1B Joe DiCecilia (Phillipsburg, NJ / Phillipsburg) is one of just three players in program history with two 50-hit seasons, concluding 2011 with 51. He also hit a home run in his final collegiate at-bat.

Swarthmore sophomore RHP Ramsey Walker (Kuttawa, KY / Lyon County) posted the third-highest total of saves (7) in Conference history.

Washington College junior SS Ryan Normoyle (Lenape, NJ / Lenape) is the school’s career leader in doubles (38) and total bases (234).
