PLAYER OF THE WEEK  

Austin Davis, Gettysburg
Sophomore, DH, New York, NY / Riverdale Country School

Davis hit .636 (14-for-22) in a 4-1 week for the Bullets with a trio of four-hit games. He had seven infield hits and scored 10 runs out of the leadoff position.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

James Chiorello, McDaniel
Sophomore, RHP, East Windsor, NJ / Lawrenceville School

Chiorello went the distance, allowing just seven hits and striking out six in a 7-2 victory at Dickinson. He also picked up the save, stranding the tying run at second base, in a 4-3 win at Swarthmore.

 

AROUND THE CONFERENCE

The two teams atop the Conference standings – Johns Hopkins and Washington College – meet in a two-game set beginning Tuesday in Chestertown. It's the 110th and 111th time that the two rivals are meeting on the diamond since 1887 with the Jays holding a 77-32 all-time lead. The Shoremen have dropped 14 straight games to Hop since a 15-5 win in C-town in 2005.

Washington College set a program record for wins in a season with victory #22 – a 3-2 comeback win vs. Franklin & Marshall. Senior RHP Shane Mattingly (Ellicott City, MD / Centennial) struck out 11 batters, reaching double digits in K's for the fifth time this season.

McDaniel extended its win streak to seven with a sweep of Swarthmore. The Terror has equaled the program record for wins in a season (19).

Swarthmore junior RF Tim Kwilos (Randolph, NJ / Delbarton School) set a program single-season record with 40 RBI, surpassing the previous mark of 38 held by Jimmy Gill '10 and Spencer Ross '12. Senior Mike Waterhouse (Weston, CT / Weston) is just three RBI shy of the Garnet career mark of 100, also set by Gill.

Dickinson senior 1B Tyler Rosa' (Carmel, CA / Stevenson School) scored the 100th run of his career on a home run against F&M last Saturday. Classmate Sean White (Summit, NJ / Salisbury School, CT) had a big mound day against the Diplomats, earning a save in the opener and a complete-game win in the nightcap.

Gettysburg earned its first win in Baltimore since 1999 with a 6-1 victory at Johns Hopkins. Sophomore RHP Drew Felsenthal (Mount Kisco, NY / Horace Greeley) struck out a career-high seven batters over 8 1/3 innings.

Johns Hopkins senior RHP Alex Eliopoulos (Arlington, VA / The Heights) punched out 10 Ursinus batters on Saturday to surpass the 200-strikeout mark for his career (206).

Haverford junior Alex Hudak (Oyster Bay, NY / Oyster Bay) drove in eight runs in the doubleheader sweep of Washington College. The Fords scored 40 runs on the day and scored at least two runs in nine of the 16 innings.
