Daley, Anderson, DeMartino Receive Weekly Honor

Franklin & Marshall's Tyler Daley was named the Centennial Conference (CC) Baseball Player of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday. The honor is the second of Daley's career and the first for a Diplomat this season.

Daley (Kensington, Md. / Georgetown Prep) was on a tear at the plate last week, putting together an impressive (.621/.703/.862) split with 18 hits in 29 at-bats through eight games. The senior outfielder registered five doubles and a triple while drawing three walks. He scored 16 runs, notched seven RBIs and stole a pair of bases.

On Tuesday against Stockton, Daley put together a career day in the Diplomats' 29-15 win by tallying a perfect 6-for-6 effort at the plate to go along with three runs scored, three RBIs and a walk.

Senior Will Anderson (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central) and junior Brad DeMartino (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) of the Gettysburg College baseball team have captured weekly honors from the Centennial Conference, it was announced Monday.

Anderson landed Co-Player of the Week recognition while DeMartino was tabbed Pitcher of the Week.

Anderson batted .542 and slugged .958 over the final eight games of Gettysburg's Spring Break trip to Florida. He smacked a double, three triples, and a home run, and he also piled up 10 runs and nine RBIs. During the team's five-game winning streak to end the week, he batted 10-for-15 with nine runs and seven RBIs.

For the season, Anderson is the ninth-leading hitter in the Centennial Conference, batting .429. He is also third in slugging percentage (.762), sixth in on-base percentage (.519), tied for fourth in RBIs (13), tied for eighth in runs (12), tied for first in triples (three), and tied for first in home runs (two).

DeMartino registered an outstanding season debut, tossing seven scoreless innings in Gettysburg's 12-0 win over Westminster (Pa.). He carried a perfect game into the fifth inning, retiring the first 14 batters he faced. He finished with 10 strikeouts while allowing just four hits, and the southpaw also went over 100 strikeouts for his career during the game.
