Reynolds, Griffin Named Players of Week

Conor Reynolds, Johns Hopkins

LANCASTER, PA – Johns Hopkins senior Conor Reynolds has been named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.

Reynolds led the Blue Jays to a 4-0 week with a .538 batting average (7-for-13) and scored 10 runs. The shortstop drew six walks for a .700 on-base percentage on the week.

At Franklin & Marshall Tuesday, Reynolds hit 3-for-4 with two doubles and his sixth home run of the season, crossing home plate four times with two RBI. Reynolds recorded a hit against F&M Friday and in the first game at Ursinus, earning three walks in each game. In the second game against the Bears, Reynolds notched two hits, including a triple, two RBI, three runs and one stolen base.

 

Billy Griffin, Washington College

Washington College senior pitcher Billy Griffin (Middletown, Md./Middletown) has been named the Centennial Conference Pitcher of the Week in baseball for the week of April 17-23.

Griffin worked eight scoreless innings, allowing no walks and just three hits while striking out 12 against Muhlenberg on Sunday. The senior retired 24 of the last 25 batters he faced and set aside 18 straight Mule hitters. 

It is the second time Griffin has won the conference's weekly award.  He won it earlier this year on March 6.
