AUBURN, N.Y. - Swarthmore knocked off Southern Maine, 9-6, to advance to the championship round of the NCAA Division III Baseball New York Regional. The Garnet is one win away from the Division III College World Series and play Sunday at 7:30 against an opponent to be determined.

Swarthmore scored three times in the bottom of the eighth to break open a 6-6 tie. After A.J. Liu was hit by a pitch to open the inning, Charlie Levitt laced a triple that eluded the right fielder, scoring Liu. Cole Beeker followed that with a RBI single of his own. After a Holden Bridge sacrifice, Jared Gillen continued his postseason heroics with a single, plating Beeker.

Jack Corkery picked up the victory with 2 2/3 innings of hitless and scoreless relief.
