Swarthmore College Baseball senior Cole Beeker was named to the Academic All-American Second Team as announced by CoSIDA on Tuesday. The first baseman is the only member of the Centennial Conference selected to any of the 2020 Division III CoSIDA Academic All-America teams. He becomes the 27th baseball player in conference history to be named to the Academic All-America squad.

Beeker's effort in the classroom earned him one of the 11 spots on CoSIDA's Division III Baseball Academic All-American Second Team.

In the 2020 campaign, Beeker hit .400 from the plate with nine doubles, one home run, eight walks, and 12 runs batted. The lefty started in all 138 games appeared in over his career and finishes with a .993 career fielding percentage and a lifetime .362 hitter. Beeker is the all-time leader in doubles (56), RBIs (154) and walks (82). In 2019, he tied the single season record for doubles (21) and walks (39) in a season by a Swarthmore player.

On the field, the first baseman was named to the D3Baseball.com All-America Fourth team and received All-Centennial First Team honors in 2019.

Beeker is the 27th Swarthmore student-athlete to receive this prestigious accolade and third baseball program history to earn the honor. In 1992, Jefferey Clark was named CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team, while Scoop Ruxin collected third team honors in 2013.
